What are your hours?

Glooscap Heritage Archers Association shoots every Sunday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for both new and regular members.
A full member has access to the club 24/7 at no additional cost to shoot indoors, or out.
The club may be closed due to bad weather.

Do you accept new members?

New Members are welcome to join the Glooscap Heritage Archers Association. To shoot at the club you must attend an orientation session where you will be given shooting instruction and safety information. The first four (4) nights will be free and you must pass the basic instruction and be certified by one of our coaches to attend our regular shoots on Sunday nights. After four (4) nights you must become a member of the Club and AANS to be able to continue shooting at the club.

Can I get the keys to the Club?

There is a probationary period for new membership before disbursement of keys and/or door code is provided, with a minimum 10 visits within a 3 month period to be entitled to full 24/7 access to the facilities. Requests for access (key and/or door code) shall be submitted in writing for consideration before the Executive. Upon approval the member(s) will be responsible for costs incurred for a reproduction of a gate key and will be entrusted with the door code. There are no per-visit fees on top of our membership fee.

What is required to join?

Annual individual/family membership is payable by cheque or money order to Glooscap Heritage Archers Association by January 31st of the current year. Membership runs from January 1st to December 31st annually.

All Members shall have a current AC/AANS Membership. We can forward your AANS membership fees (www.aans.ca) on your behalf. Please ensure a separate cheque/money order is payable directly to Archery Association of Nova Scotia (AANS) for you records.

Both AANS membership form and GHAA membership forms must be completed. You can download the membership forms in pdf format below, fill them out and return them with your fees.



Each individual shooter must sign-in on entering the facility. All Archers wanting to shoot at Glooscap Heritage Archers Association must have a valid AC/AANS card in their possession.

GHAA Individual: $25
+ AANS Individual: $40

GHAA Family: $30
+ AANS Family: $90

Do you have meetings?

Membership meetings are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month, from 6:30-9:00pm. All members are invited and encouraged to attend as your input is welcome.

Do I need my own equipment?

The Club has some equipment for use by new members. We have right and left hand Recurve and Compound Bows as well as some arrows. Please remember these items must be shared by all new members who do not have their own equipment.

What are your rules?

You will be required to sign an agreement on your annual membership application. Failure to follow the rules will be cause for expulsion from the club.

THERE WILL BE NO HORSEPLAY PERMITTED
• You will be responsible for your own behaviour
• You will help with cleaing of the facility at the end of each day
• You will be responsible for your own equipment and personal belongings
• You will not draw a bow back without an arrow on the string (risk of dry-fire)
• You will not handle another archer's equipment without permission directly from them
• You will obey all safety rules
• You will listen to and follow the direction(s) of the coaches
• You will not bring or use alcohol, or illegal substances
• You will not bring any other weapons to the Club
• You will follow a "hands off" policy (no touching, hitting or fighting)
• You will respect coaches, and other members
• All Club equipment will stay on Club grounds at all times
• All individuals under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian in attendance to shoot

Anything else?

Glooscap Heritage Archers Association hosts at least two Shoots annually.
